In a short while I’m heading up north to Wisconsin for the weekend, so I will keep this week’s edition brief.
At 7 PM CST the 6th annual Chicago 48 Hour Film Project competition will begin. Participating teams will have 48 hours to write, shoot, edit and score a four to seven minute film. All the filmmakers will start with the same basic elements of a character, a prop, and a line of dialogue.
The completed films will premiere August 17-19 at Landmark Century Centre Theatre from 7 – 9:30 p.m.. Screenings are open to the public and tickets can be purchased at the Landmark box office. A showcase of the winning films from the premiere will be held Tuesday, August 24th at the Lincoln Hall.
The filmmakers range from experienced professionals intrigued by the challenges the competition imposes to high school students making their first films.
I will be attending the Thursday screening. Join me at the Landmark next week.
