The South by Southwest Festival is three festivals in one: the interactive conference, which ended last week; the film festival, which continues; and the music portion, the largest and most popular part. This year the interactive festival came into its own, with panel sessions addressing a number of cutting-edge Internet technologies. Among the presenters was Burt Herman of Storify, which I’m using to cover, virtually, the SXSW festival.
Below is a Storify version of the SXSW film festival. The social media stream is pretty huge–the festival is the third most Tweeted event of 2011, after the Oscars and Charlie Sheen–so this is a necessarily selective look at what it was like to attend the festival and what films generated the most interest.
