Steve Jobs and the Humanities

Everybody in my usual data streams is trying to assess what we lost when Steve Jobs died. Here’s what I will miss: that crazy slide Jobs would periodically include in his presentations about Apple existing at the intersection of technology and the humanities. I can only imagine the impact of that slide on the developers in the audience. There they are mulling over the  implications of, say, a change in the way iOS handles notifications. Then Jobs puts up the humanities slide. It must have hit them as a stray particular, nothing that can be processed, like a bear had suddenly ambled across the stage and vanished.

I also like how Jobs always used the same slide.
