The American Institute of Architects has named Robert Venturi and Denise Scott Brown as the 2016 AIA Gold Medal laureates, giving them the joint recognition that the Pritzker Prize organisers refused.

Architecture may be the most male-dominated creative field in the U.S., with the possible exceptions of film directing and heavy metal bands. Scott Brown has long been overshadowed by her husband and design partner, Robert Venturi. It's good to see her getting some institutional recognition.
